Due to the control of the epidemic, delivery trucks are not allowed to leave the expressway, and they must be picked up by someone from the port storage yard with the company’s business license. After paying  CNY350 to the company that is running the port yard, the yard sent someone to pick up the truck, but the truck was affixed with a seal. With this seal, the truck could not enter the yard due to the epidemic prevention policy of the port yard. I had to hire forklifts and another trucks from the port again, and reload the goods from the previous trucks to the trucks from the port, and then delivered the goods to the designated storage yard. And we paid an additional CNY500 for this.

The concrete cylinder is the most common sample type for tests of concrete compressive strength. There are other ways to determine concrete strength, and some methods may be more cost-effective and arguably better, but concrete cylinder testing remains the standard for acceptance.

Not long ago, I drove past a construction site on my daily commute and noticed a set of four test cylinders, apparently cast during a recent concrete placement. My first hands-on exposure to installing stamped concrete was back in 1976 at the innocent age of 14. I was working for my father at the time, helping him stamp a crosswalk in the busy downtown area of Alameda, Calif. The brick-pattern stamps we were using were made of plastic, and to prevent them from sticking to the fresh concrete, we stamped through a layer of 1-mil plastic. Once the stamping was complete, we added texture by dragging a broom across the surface.

There are a lot of steps involved in stamping concrete, and only a short window of time in which to get them done. Unlike when applying a decorative coating or stain to hardened concrete, crews need to complete the entire stamping process before the fresh concrete sets.

Truck mounted dual piston pumps are commonly used for concrete pumping.
